User Board and OIVs

The User Board is a body that meets at least once per semester and is convened by the IT Committee. It gives the IT Committee the opportunity to present new services and changes to the services, but also to give feedback and input to the individual users. All OIVs of the individual organisational units should participate in the User Board meetings. Interested guests are always welcome.

What are OIVs and what are their tasks.

Through VSETH IT, VSETH wants to provide the most reliable, cost-effective and innovative IT infrastructure possible for the various organisational units (student associations, commissions, other student organisations). While the technical tasks are largely handled by ISG, we want to leave the various organisational units to perform their own administrative tasks such as creating mail distribution lists, placing user accounts in the group structure and other tasks. On one hand, this is due to the fact that ISG does not have the structural knowledge of all user groups and on the other hand, ISG does not want to dictate the infrastructure to the individual organisational units.
For this reason, each organisational unit that obtains IT services from VSETH appoints a so-called Organisational IT Manager (OIV), who acts as the contact person for the respective organisational unit vis-à-vis ISG and takes on certain administrative tasks.

Who acts as my OIV?

  • VSETH Board, Employees, FR- and MR-Executive committee: The board appoints an OIV.
  • Consulting boards: The VSETH board OIV assumes the OIV position for all Consulting boards.
  • Committees: Each committee has its own OIV, please ask in your committee who is currently responsible.
  • student associations: Each student association has its own OIV, please ask in your student association who is currently responsible.
  • AsOrgs: Each associated organisation has its its own OIV, please ask in yours who is currently responsible.

What is discussed at the meetings?

As indicated above, during the User Board sessions the services and changes to the services are presented and the respective users have the opportunity to give feedback.
At the first session, we will present the structure that has been developed, what services VSETH IT currently offers and what changes will be made in the future. You will also be informed about how you can keep up-to-date with the services offered by VSETH. Afterwards, we will discuss the expectations of those involved with VSETH IT and especially with ITA.
